One journal, four sources
Most traders use more than one platform — a funded MT5 account, a crypto portfolio on Binance, a side account on Bybit. TradeMetrics doesn't force you to choose. Connect any source, switch between them in one click, and keep your full trading picture in one place.
MetaTrader 5
Full auto-sync from MT5. Reads your local terminal — no API keys, no manual export.
Binance
Connect with Read-Only API keys. Spot and Futures trades load automatically.
Bybit
Linear and inverse contracts. Same Read-Only API — no trading permissions needed.
MEXC
Futures trades via API. Full history and open positions tracked live.
How it works
- Pick a source — MT5 for MetaTrader, or an exchange from the list.
- For MT5 — just make sure the terminal is running and you're logged in.
- For crypto — paste your Read-Only API Key and Secret.
- Click Connect — trades load in 2–5 seconds.
- Switch anytime — the Source dropdown lets you flip between accounts instantly.
Safe by design
Crypto exchanges only need Read-Only permissions — TradeMetrics can see your trades but can never place an order, withdraw funds, or change account settings. Your API keys are stored locally, encrypted, and never leave your machine.
Import from CSV
Coming from another journal — TradesViz, Tradezella, or a broker export? Drop a CSV file and TradeMetrics will auto-detect columns like Symbol, Side, Volume, Open/Close prices, P&L, and timestamps. Any encoding (UTF-8, CP1251, Latin-1), any delimiter (comma, semicolon, tab).
⚙️ Everything else in Settings
The Settings panel (gear icon in the top-right) holds the four blocks you'll touch most often. You can open it at any time — nothing here interrupts your trading data.
💾 Trades Cache
Your trades are cached locally so the app opens instantly and works offline. Two actions are available:
- 🔄 Refresh (in the Trades tab) — loads only new trades since the last sync. Fast, keeps existing cache.
- 🗑️ Clear Cache — wipes the cache and reloads everything from the source for the full history period. Use this if the cache is broken, you changed the history range, or switched to a new account.
The cache block shows live info: number of trades, last sync time, and the period covered — updated automatically when you switch sources.
💰 Initial Balance
Required for percentage metrics. Enter the starting balance of your account so TradeMetrics can convert every dollar value into a percentage — the only way to compare strategies across different account sizes.
Example: $1,000 profit on a $10,000 account is +10%; the same profit on a $50,000 account is only +2%.
🌍 Time Zone
Controls how trade times are displayed across all analytics. Two widgets depend on it directly:
- P&L by Hour — the 24-bar histogram shifts so "hour" matches your local trading day.
- Session Efficiency — Asia / London / New York boundaries are calculated using your chosen UTC offset.
Default: UTC. Change it once and every chart recalculates on the next render.
🔑 License
Activate a full license or check the status of your current one:
- Paste your key into the License field and click Activate.
- Your status is shown live: Trial, Active, or Expired.
- Click Buy License to open the pricing page in your browser.
The trial gives you 30 days of full access to every feature except AI Assistant. After it expires, the journal stays unlocked — only analytics and AI are restricted.
